RETIREMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ("CEO") AND APPOINTMENT OF SUCCESSOR
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, shareholders of Quantum Foods are
hereby advised that Mr Hendrik Albertus Lourens will retire from his position of CEO of Quantum Foods with effect from
Monday, 1 April 2024.
The board of directors of the Company ("Board") would like to sincerely thank Mr Lourens for his exemplary leadership
and valuable contribution to the Company over many years and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Adel Deidré van der Merwe as the new CEO of the Company
with effect from Monday, 1 April 2024.
Ms van der Merwe holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Management Accounting from Stellenbosch University and
is currently an executive at the Company's Layer Farming and Eggs businesses. Ms van der Merwe started her career
in the corporate finance department of Pioneer Foods in 1995 and moved to central procurement where she spent much
of her time involved in procurement of raw materials and commodities. In 2008 she joined Nova Feeds, which was a
division of Pioneer Foods at the time. Ms van der Merwe joined the Eggs business during 2016. She has accumulated
over 13 years of experience in the animal feeds and food industry, bringing invaluable insight to her new role.
To ensure an orderly transition, Mr Lourens will remain an executive director of the Company until Friday, 31 May 2024.
The Board would like to congratulate Ms van der Merwe on her new role.
