Executive Director – Willem van Biljon

In terms of paragraph 6.39(a) of the Debt Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, noteholders
are herewith advised of the following change to the boards of directors (“the Boards”) of Sanlam
Limited (“Sanlam”) and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited.

Mr Willem van Biljon has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive director to the Boards
of Sanlam Limited and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, effective 13 August 2021. His appointment
has been approved by the Prudential Authority in terms of the Insurance Act No 18 of 2017.

Willem has successfully launched, scaled, and sold technology businesses across a variety of
sectors including financial services and fintech. He has successfully built, managed, and grown
technology initiatives and solutions within corporate environments. He currently serves on the
Boards of various successful technology start-ups as well as established companies.

Commenting on this appointment, the Chair of Sanlam and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, Mr
Elias Masilela said: “Willem has an excellent reputation in this field and is keen to join the Sanlam
Board”.
