NOTICE FOR THE EARLY REDEMPTION OF THE ZAR1,000,000,000 UNSECURED SUBORDINATED CALLABLE
FLOATING RATE NOTES DUE 15 AUGUST 2026 (SLI4) (the SLI4 Notes) IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONDITION
8.4 (REDEMPTION AT THE OPTION OF THE ISSUER) OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS AMENDED BY THE
APPLICABLE PRICING SUPPLEMENT RELATING TO THE SLI4 NOTES
This notice for the early redemption of SLI4 Notes (this Early Redemption Notice) is delivered by the Issuer
to each holder of SLI4 Notes (the SLI4 Noteholders) issued under the Issuer’s ZAR6,000,000,000 Unsecured
Subordinated Note Programme established pursuant to a programme memorandum dated 2 August 2016
(the Programme Memorandum) in accordance with Condition 17 (Notices) of the section headed “Terms and
Conditions of the Notes” in the Programme Memorandum (the Terms and Conditions). The purpose of this
Early Redemption Notice is to notify the SLI4 Noteholders of the early redemption of the SLI4 Notes pursuant
to Condition 8.4 of the Terms and Conditions as amended by Item 34 of the applicable pricing supplement
relating to the SLI4 Notes issued on 11 August 2016 (the SLI4 APS).
Capitalised terms used herein which are not otherwise defined shall bear the meaning ascribed thereto in
the Terms and Conditions and/or SLI4 APS.
The Issuer proposes in terms of Condition 8.4 (Redemption at the Option of the Issuer) of the Terms and
Conditions and Item 34 of the SLI4 APS, and is entitled to redeem all of the SLI4 Notes on the First Call Date,
being 15 August 2021.
The Issuer hereby gives written notice to redeem all the SLI4 Notes on the 15 August 2021 pursuant to the
Terms and Conditions as amended by the SLI4 APS.
The redemption amount and amount outstanding after the redemption are as follows:

The optional redemption of the Notes has been approved by the Prudential Authority.
