Sappi releases 2005 annual report                                               
With reference to the results announcement for the year ended September 2005    
which was published on 10 November 2005, there have been no changes to the      
results published in that announcement and those contained in Sappi"s 2005      
annual report.  Mailing of the annual report commenced on 20 December 2005.  The
annual report is available on www.sappi.com.                                    
Sappi"s annual general meeting will be held at 11h00 on Monday, 06 March 2006 at
the offices of Sappi Limited, 48 Ameshoff Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg,   
South Africa.  The notice of the annual general meeting is contained in the     
annual report.                                                                  
Sappi intends to file its annual report on Form 20-F with the US Securities and 
Exchange Commission (SEC) on 20 December 2005.  Once filed, this document will  
also be available on www.sappi.com.
