Sappi Fine Paper North America announces senior management changes              
Kathy Walters, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sappi Fine Paper North  
America, will be leaving Sappi to take up the position of President of Georgia- 
Pacific Corporation"s Commercial Business.                                      
Dr John Job, Sappi Limited"s Executive Director of Technology, will take over as
President and CEO of Sappi Fine Paper North America pro tem with effect from 26 
April pending the appointment of a successor to Kathy Walters.  He will be based
at the regional headquarters in Boston while retaining his current              
responsibilities.                                                               
John Job has held several executive positions including heading Sappi"s South   
African businesses from July 1999 to December 2003.  Prior to joining Sappi, he 
was CEO of South Africa-based Sentrachem Limited, and from 1995 to 1997 was     
Chairman of the Board for Hampshire Chemical Corporation based in Lexington,    
Massachusetts.  He has a PhD in Chemistry from McGill University in Montreal,   
Canada.                                                                         
Commenting on the announcement, Jonathan Leslie, Chief Executive Officer of     
Sappi Limited said: "John Job and Kathy Walters will work closely together to   
ensure a smooth transition." He added "I would like to thank Kathy for her      
commitment while at Sappi and wish her success in her new position."            
An external search for a successor is under way.
