AMENDMENT OF SALIENT DATES                                                      
In the announcement released on SENS on Tuesday, 1 December 2009, Mutual &      
Federal shareholders were advised that the scheme of arrangement proposed by Old
Mutual plc ("Old Mutual") between Mutual & Federal and its shareholders other   
than Old Mutual and its subsidiaries who beneficially hold shares in Mutual &   
Federal ("the Scheme") remains subject to the fulfilment or waiver, to the      
extent possible, of certain conditions precedent set out in that announcement.  
Shareholders are further advised that one of the required regulatory approvals  
in respect of the Scheme has not been obtained from the relevant regulatory     
authority as yet, and accordingly, the salient dates and times published in the 
circular to shareholders posted on Friday, 30 October 2009 have been extended. A
further announcement regarding the final dates and times of the Scheme will be  
released on SENS and published in the press in due course.
