ANGLOGOLD ANNOUNCES A US$600,000,000 SYNDICATED REVOLVING CREDIT FACILITY
AngloGold today announced that a $600 million syndicated revolving credit
facility was signed on Thursday, 7 February 2002. This facility, which will
be used to refinance an existing US$350 million loan maturing on 12 February
2002 and for other general corporate purposes, has a three-year term and a
margin of 70 basis points above LIBOR.

A total of 24 international banks participated in the facility.

Commenting on the conclusion of the arrangement, AngloGold's Finance

Director, Jonathan Best, said: "We're very pleased to have secured a margin
for this facility that sets a new benchmark for large loans to South African
companies.  The rate is also significantly better than the terms of the
previous loan, which had a margin of 90 basis points above LIBOR.  This,
together with the fact that the facility was substantially over-subscribed,
indicates the market's strengthening perception of AngloGold's credit
worthiness.  It also signals an improvement in the availability and cost of
funds for South African companies raising capital abroad."
