"As previously announced in Sappi`s annual report for 2001 and in January 2002  
in the announcement of Kathy Walters` appointment as CEO of Sappi Fine Paper    
North America, Monte Haymon retired as non-executive chairman of that business  
at the end of December 2002.                                                    
Monte Haymon at the same time retired as an executive director of Sappi Limited 
but he remains on the board of Sappi Limited as a non-executive director.  Bill 
Sheffield, an executive director of Sappi Limited and the CEO of Sappi`s Fine   
Paper business becomes chairman of Sappi Fine Paper North America from 1 January
2003."
