Texton is a JSE-approved Real Estate Investment Trust. The primary business of Texton is long-term investment in quality, rental-generating properties, which are maintained and upgraded or refurbished as necessary so as to increase the long-term value of the property assets.As at 30 June 2017, Texton's property portfolio comprised 43 owned and managed properties in the South African industrial, offi ce and retail sectors valued at R3.4 billion (2016: R3.5 billion) and eleven owned and managed properties in the United Kingdom industrial, office and retail sectors valued at R2.1 billion (2016: R1.6 billion) which includes a 50% shareholding in Inception (Reading) S.'.r.l which owns the Broad Street Mall in Reading, a secondary node in the United Kingdom.
