| Business | The group carries on business of furniture and appliance retail. It also provides financial, insurance, microlending and debt recovery services as well as contact centre solutions. In the latter half of the financial year under review, the group acquired the South African retail assets of Steinhoff International, namely Unitrans Auto and SteinBuild. After the acquisition, the group has four retail divisions, a consumer finance and new business development divisions.The group operates its furniture retail operations through eight chains in southern Africa and one in Poland, namely Abra SA. This international operation has been sold to Steinhoff International as a part of the greater Unitrans/ SteinBuild/Abra transaction and has been accounted for on a discontinued basis in the financial statements. The group's cash retail operations are conducted through two chains in South Africa.
