1. Why is it free? What’s the catch?
086 numbers cost less to host which help cover fax & support costs. The receiver doesn’t pay. Only the sender of the fax will pay a fax fee as per normal.

2. How much will it cost the sender?
The cost is Telkom's standard VAS Rate - R1.80 ex vat per minute. Faxing times are halved & in sending multiple pages the sender either pays less or the same as a normal fax. The fee per minute is also set to be reduced by Telkom to R1.56 per minute by the year end 2008.
 
3. Is there a limit to the fax numbers allocated to our company?
No. Everyone with an email address (or alias) will have their own 0865 number.

4. If people from other countries send a fax, what number do they dial?
Simply add South Africa’s dialing code and then drop the zero before the fax number.
e.g. If your Email2FAX  number is 086 555 1111, it now becomes +27 86 555 1111 to a foreign sender.

5. What if we already have Rightfax, Winfax in place?
Unlike Sharenet Fax 2 Email, Rightfax & Winfax need phone lines, an onsite server & license fees per person for faxing. Therefore, using Sharenet’s service is for easier and less complicated.

6. How secure is this service?
As secure as your email. 086 numbers can’t be intercepted. Click here for further information.

7. What impact will added traffic have on our mail server?
Very little. Faxes are compressed & will equal about 30KB. PDF’s are smaller.

8. What if I accidentally lose or delete an important fax?
We archive received faxes for up to 30 days. You can have all received faxes during this period resubmitted.

9. Can I receive the same fax on multiple email accounts?
Yes, we can set up a maximum of 3 email accounts that will all receive the same fax at no extra charge. Simply contact us to add this feature free of charge.

10. Can the fax number be rerouted to a new email address if mine changes?
Yes. Please contact us and we will make the appropriate change.

11. Who do I call if I lose my fax number?
Contact us and we will be happy to help locate your number.

12. Where do I sign up?
Simply go to http://www.sharenet.co.za/faxmail/  enter in the email address you wish to receive faxes at and enter your name, tick the “I accept” box which refers to the terms and conditions which you can read by simply clicking the terms and conditions link. And once you have done that simply click the button that reads, “Get your fax number!” You will then automatically be assigned a number which you will receive in a welcome email at the address you specified.
